Recently, we were commissioned an exciting project; to design and create a collection of luxury and bespoke furniture.
Our client requested a selection of luxury pieces for a high-end London property.
We created a collection consisting of a dark stained bedside table, a silvered writing desk, a silvered dressing table and silvered chest of six drawers.
The beautifully curved writing desk along with an elegantly styled make-up table, are both pieces which have individual elements adding character to the sleek, contemporary design.
The writing desk is elegant and functional, with filing space in the bottom two drawers. Subtle details in the shadow gaps and dark bronze handles compliment the luxurious vellum inset top.
For the six-drawer chest, we kept a square shape, moving away from the curves of the other pieces. To form an alliance and unity with the other pieces, we kept the same modern style with the silver stained timber and contrasting handles.
The writing desk, dressing table and chest of drawers were all finished in lavish metallic silver lacquer with beautiful contrasting dark bronze handles. Each drawer is expertly made with dovetail jointing methods. By staining the interior and exterior in a dark wenge colour, the dovetail joints are emphasised.
A pair of bedside cabinets, finished in a stained ash veneer and each with a contrasting shadow gap, finish off this collection. The drawers of the cabinets are mitred to give a flush look, and square steel handles complete the piece.
The modest, yet beautifully bespoke style of this hand crafted collection is a true reflection of the skill of John Beavan.
